The City of San Antonio takes special care in the inspection and approval of fire walls that separate 2 different units. In fact, we have had to schedule more than 6 inspections to fully pass the fire and safety. You have to put sheetrock on one side, schedule and inspection, then put insulation in the wall and schedule another inspection, put sheetrock on the other side and top 4 feet of the ceiling, then schedule another inspection, etc etc.

The final result is that both the city and our company is assured that no corners were cut by any of the subcontractors and that the fire wall is providing the protection it needs to.

We never like to have any delays in our construction and these multiple inspections set us back 2 weeks–but in this case–we don’t feel as bad with the delay, knowing how important these inspections are.
